Haha. Ottawa doesn't need another Ruutu. Solid choices but I never take too much stock in predictions. Trade deadline rarely turns out to be the way they think. I'm not involved in any fantasy hockey this year anyway.
ReplyDeleteOkay Peter I will bite on this but honestly 15 is a stretch here.
ReplyDelete1. Ray Whitney (PHX) to Pittsburgh for 2012 1st round pick and Joe Vitale
2. Andy Sutton (EDM) to Chicago for 2012 5th round pick.
3. Ales Hemsky (EDM) to Detroit for 2012 2nd round pick.
4. Tuommo Ruutu (CAR) to St. Louis for a 2012 2nd round pick and conditional 2013 pick
5. Marek Zidlicky (MIN) to Philadelphia for a 2012 3rd round pick.

Yes 14 is off the wall and so are a few others but hey I had to be different.
According to your predictions the Chicago Blackhawks acquire both Derek Roy and Andy Sutton without losing a single current roster player. Is it safe to assume then that you are predicting Chicago to win the cup as well? Because that is one hell of a stacked mock line-up.
ReplyDeleteAlso I love the Roy/McNeill swap, Buffalo should have drafted Mark over Joel Armia last year anyway as they are thin at center from an organizational standpoint.
Good predictions overall.
Crazy unlikely trade, but how about Columbus sends Jeff Carter to the NY Islanders for Michael Grabner, Josh Bailey, and a 3rd rd pick in 2012.
Good list but I don't think Hal Gill will get a 2nd round pick. I also don't think TB would trade Malone for Wolski straight up but a good list to ponder over. It will be interesting to see how many you are close on.
ReplyDeleteHabs need a big, young center, preferably francophone. Here's how they'll get him:
ReplyDeleteTrade a combination of Gill, Campoli, Moen, Kostistyn for 2nd and third round picks, as they did with Cammalleri.
Then, package a bunch of those picks with Plekanec, Weber, Michael Bournival and Patrick Holland for Jonathan Huberdeau from the Florida Panthers. Panthers would get the second center they so desparately need right now for the playoffs while stocking up on some young prospects and draft picks.
